Syndic8 welcomes Charles A. Hunt to its Advisory Board. Charles brings a lifetime of software experience and expertise to the Syndic8 team.
Mr. Hunt is a seasoned industry executive with extensive experience and understanding of investment management and accounting application design, development and implementation.
For several years Charlie was on the Board of Directors of Bonaire Software Solutions. In 2013,Charlie assisted in the sale of Bonaire to Broadridge Financial Solutions, a NYSE company in the financial services industry.
Prior to working with Bonaire, Charlie was a VicePresident at GoldK, Inc., a full-service, Internet-based 401K retirement company. He was initially responsible for managing the process of developing, prioritizing, and enhancing GoldK’s existing and new product software releases. Before departing GoldK, he was managing their largest clients includingGeneral Electric, Costco, Intuit, and other large investment firms.
Before joining GoldK, Charlie was President and Chief Executive Officer of Computer Aided Decisions, Inc., (CAD) a firm he co-founded in 1982. The company develops, sells, maintains, and supports large-scale investment management systems for portfolio management, trade and order entry, equity and fixed-income research, reconcilement, and billing. Clients included Citibank, DuPont, Merrill Lynch, the states of Florida and CaliforniaRetirement Systems. Before selling CAD to a New York-based venture capital firm in 2000, Mr. Hunt grew the company to support more than $400 billion in global investment funds.
Prior to CAD, Charlie was the founder, president and chief executive officer of Computer Frontiers, Inc., which developed systems for foreign exchange trading, corporate bankruptcy prediction, and other services for investment managers and brokers. Established in 1976, Computer Frontiers supported foreign exchange trading systems for 40 of the world’s largest international banks.
Earlier, he began his career at Shawmut Bank, where he worked for 10 years. His last position there was assistant vice president, with responsibility for management sciences/operations research.
Charlie served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964-1970 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College.
